Kiss Me Deadly was a pretty decent movie with many attributes to the Film Noir cattegory. This movie was very dark and deliberate. As I was watching i began to notice the various camera placements that were used. Several times Mike would enter a building and there would be a camera showing him come all the way up the steps to the door that he was going to. This seemed odd as nothing ever came of this, nobody following him or anything else would happen. Just a long shot of Mike making his way up the steps. Another thing I realized was several long shots. An example of this is when Mike goes to the boxing training place. The shot starts on a close up of a speed bag, then zooms out to show the guy hitting it and then slowly makes its way through a hall and to stairs where we meet mike. It then tracks backwards as mike comes towards the camera. Still continuing the shot Mike talks to a trainer about some lead he has in the case, when he gets upset he makes his was to a telephone and the camera again follows with a tracking shot. The shot continues all the way though the conversation on the phone and finally it is over. A couple other shots similar to this one caught my eye however this one was the longest.
